Body Found in Staten Island Park Identified as Missing Woman: Police

A body found inside a Staten Island park Thursday evening has been identified as that of a 20-year-old woman who has been missing since early August.

Police were called to Willowbrook Park after someone reported a foul smell and found the body, identified Friday as Megan Marotte of Staten Island.

Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma. The medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Marotte was reported missing by her family Aug. 3.

The Staten Island Advance reports Marotte was arrested July 12 for allegedly driving while impaired and was due back in court on Aug. 26.
