State to Provide Suicide Prevention Training to Schools

New York state's suicide prevention initiative is helping to provide online training to as many as 30,000 educators in high schools statewide.

Every public and private high school is eligible for the program at no cost.

Schools interested in the service and organizing their own programs can get more information by clicking here.

The suicide prevention program helps educators uncover signs of bullying and other mental stress.

A webinar for educators is planned for Aug. 23.

The service comes as incidence of suicide among teenagers is rising nationwide.
