Shovel This! NYC Sanitation Worker Arrested for Assault

A little trash talk turned violent in Brooklyn.

A fight in East New York left a man with a shovel in the head and a NYC Sanitation worker in hand-cuffs, according to police.

Like many others this Earth Week, Sanitation Dept. worker Randolph Garcia, 45, was picking up trash. He allegedly grew angry when he caught another man tossing rubbish into the back of his truck.

The men exchanged words, and Garcia then grabbed a shovel and whacked the man in the head, according to the NYPD.

The victim is okay; he was being treated at Brookdale Hospital, authorities said.

Garcia has been charged with assault.
