The manager of a Duane Reade in Manhattan was slashed late Thursday by shoplifters who tried to steal shampoo from the pharmacy, the NYPD says.
The two shoplifters went into the store on Broadway near City Hall about 11:30 p.m., police say. When the manager tried to stop them as they were leaving, he was slashed by one of the suspects.
One of the two suspects got away, but the other was arrested by police.
The manager was treated by EMS and released, the NYPD says.
