Police Find 2 Long Island Shooting Victims Blocks Apart; 1 Killed

    Police in Nassau County are investigating a homicide after finding two men with gunshot wounds just blocks apart Monday afternoon.

    The two men were found when officers in Valley Stream received a call about someone who was possibly shot on the sidewalk of Charles Street, the Nassau County Police Department says.

    The first victim, 21, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead within an hour, the department says. 

    The second man, 22,  was found a short time later. He was also taken to the hospital and is listed in guarded condition. 

    It's unclear whether the shootings are connected, police say. An investigation is ongoing.
