2 Dead After Gunman Shoots Inside Ex-Girlfriend's Car in Brooklyn: NYPD

Police say a 39-year-old man killed himself after first shooting an ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend in Brooklyn.

Police say the gunman, Jerry Paterson, shot the pair before turning the gun on himself on the 200 block of East 91st Street in East Flatbush shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say Paterson got out of his parked car and shot into his ex's car, striking the 33-year-old woman in the body and hitting her companion, 44-year-old Kenly Joseph, in the head. Surveillance footage from the scene obtained by NBC 4 New York shows Paterson striding toward the woman's car. 

After the shooting, police say Paterson crossed the street and turned the gun on himself, shooting himself in the head.

Paterson was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The woman was also taken to the hospital and was last listed in stable condition.

Joseph was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. . 

Witnesses said they heard several gunshots.
