Sex Assault Suspect Drags Woman Off Busy Street, Breaks Her Nose

Authorities released a surveillance image of the suspect and ask anyone who may have encountered him to come forward

Police are looking for a man who dragged a 24-year-old woman off a busy Long Island street and into a wooded area where he sexually assaulted and robbed her last weekend.

The woman suffered a broken nose, along with multiple cuts and bruises, in the attack early Saturday, police said.

Suffolk County police say she was walking on Main Street in Patchogue when the assailant forced her to the nearby woods between West and River avanues.

Detectives believe Main Street was crowded Friday night into Saturday morning, and that numerous people may have encountered the suspect before or after the attack.

Police released an image of the suspect captured by surveillance cameras (above).

Authorities ask anyone with information about the assault to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS.
