Cops Hunt Serial Burglar in Queens

The highest dollar amount stolen in one of the break-ins was $12,000 in cash as well as $3,000 in Chinese currency

Police are looking for a man who may be responsible for up to 25 separate burglaries in a single Queens neighborhood.

In all of the burglaries, which have taken place in the past three months, a man has broken into homes in College Point and stolen some combination of money, electronics and jewelry.

The highest dollar amount stolen in one of the break-ins was $12,000 in cash as well as $3,000 in Chinese currency plus electronics and jewelry from a home on 125th Street and 18th Avenue.

Police have released the photo above of a suspect wanted in connection with at least one, and perhaps all, of the burglaries.

Officials are also warning people in the neighborhood to be on guard.

One resident said he hasn’t worried about safety in the area but is staying vigilant about locking his door and making sure not to let in strangers.

“It’s well patrolled as far as I know," said John Miner.

Anyone who has information about the suspect or burglary pattern is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
