Second Drowning in 2 Weeks in Bear Mountain Lake: Police

A 40-year-old man's body was found

A 40-year-old man drowned Thursday afternoon in Bear Mountain's Hessian Lake, police said.

It was the second drowning in less than two weeks in the lake, where swimming is not allowed, New York State Park Police said.

Firefighters and rescue workers were called to the lake at around 5 p.m. and police found the man's body about an hour later.

The man has not been identified and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
