State Police: 1 Killed, 2 Hurt in NJ Parkway Crash

State police say a woman was killed and two people were injured when a motorcycle collided with a disabled car on the Garden State Parkway in central New Jersey.

Trooper Christopher Kay tells the Star-Ledger that 20-year-old Sierra Abbott of Brick was killed in the crash, which occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday in a southbound lane near milemarker 126. 3 in Sayreville.

Abbott was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by 49-year-old Michael Meluso of Brick. Authorities say the motorcycle struck the rear of a car that broke down and stopped in a travel lane, and Abbott was thrown on to the roadway .

Meluso remained hospitalized Sunday in critical condition, while the car's driver, 21-year-old Simone Lubarsky of Staten Island, N.Y., was treated for minor injuries.
