Sanitation Worker Killed in Orange County Hit-Run: Police

    Police are investigating the hit-and-run death of a sanitation worker in the Orange County town of Monroe. 

    The worker, Anastacio Vasquez of Spring Valley, was collecting trash in the village of Kiryas Joel on Satmar Drive at about 12 p.m., according to State Police. While trying to cross the street, Vasquez was hit by a vehicle and died at the scene.

    A white minivan was seen leaving the area after the crash, according to police.
