NYer Finds Salsa Star's Lost Wallet, Passport in Back of Cab

Frankie Vazquez said he might have missed his upcoming tour if not for the man who returned his items

A salsa star who left his wallet and passport in the back of a cab is thanking the New Yorker who found his belongings and kept him from missing his upcoming tour.

Frankie Vazquez got out of a taxi in Harlem Wednesday night, distracted because he was texting at the time.

After he realized his wallet was missing, he tells NBC 4 New York he spent a sleepless night worrying that he wouldn't be able to leave the country, missing his next concert in Venezuela.

Little did he know, the New Yorker who got into that cab after him found his items and was desperately trying to find him.

Jordan Brill used to work at NBC and reached out to NBC 4 New York to help track down the salsa sensation.

When the pair met Thursday, Vazquez was elated.

"You saved my life," he told Brill.

"Jordan, to me, is another beautiful angel," Vazquez said. "He did something incredible and all New Yorkers know that's the way we roll."

And now, the salsa tour rolls on, without missing a beat.
