Police are looking for the suspect who pulled a gun on a 73-year-old man in a Lower East Side elevator and demanded money before running off.

Authorities say the suspect, described as being in his 20s, followed the victim into the elevator of a building on Cherry Street and pulled out a weapon. He demanded money, and when the victim said he didn't have any, the suspect got out of the elevator and ran off.

The suspect is described as being about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was wearing a long black hooded coat at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about the attempted robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
