Beheaded Animals Found on Long Island; Ritual Killing Suspected

Several beheaded animals were found among fruits and vegetables while others were discovered hanging from trees on Long Island in what authorities think are a series of ritual killings, officials said Thursday.

The Suffolk County SPCA said they got a call about dead animals in the Otis Pike Preserve in Riverhead late last month. Several animal heads were on the ground among fruits and vegetables.

Before that, the SPCA says they found several dead roosters hanging from trees at an intersection in Islip.

The SPCA says it is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.

Anyone with information about the killings is asked to call the SPCA at 631-382-7722.
