Two correction officers at Rikers Island were slashed in the face by an inmate Tuesday night, sources tell NBC 4 New York.
It happened at the Otis Bantum Correctional Center inside the jail complex at about 6:30 p.m.
One of the injured officers was slashed in the face while the other had cuts to the right ear, according to sources. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
