Some 50 dogs, rescued from puppy mills in Missouri and Kansas arrived safety to the fine folks at the North Shore Animal League in Port Washington on Wednesday Morning.

Today's arrival was part of the league's event launch of, "Tour For Life," a mobile intitative that travels across the country, placing animals into loving homes.

As for today's newest arrivals, the volunteers gave the rescued dogs a health check and behavoiral screenings. The pups should be ready for adoption by next week. If you're interested in adopting anyone of the dogs, call the North Shore Animal League at (516)-883-7575.
