Report: Bloomberg Aide Pulls Back Lobbying for Kennedy
Sources says lobbying "wasn't working"

A top city political leader lobbying to get Caroline Kennedy into the U.S. Senate is now pulling back those efforts, a published report said Tuesday.
Michael Bloomberg's deputy mayor, Kevin Sheekey, believes his lobbying effort “wasn’t working,” sources tell the New York Post.
The Post quotes sources as saying that Sheekey had hoped to round up overwhelming support for Kennedy so she would become the “inevitable” choice when Gov. David Paterson picks a successor for Hillary Clinton as she steps out of her Senate seat to take up post as Secretary of State.
"Everything was backfiring," said one source of the intense behind-the-scenes effort by Sheekey.
"She wasn't prepped enough," said a source. "She wasn't ready to do this."
