Man Punches Woman, Tries to Rape Her on Street: Cops

Handout

Police are looking for the man who punched a 61-year-old woman in the face, pushed her to the ground and tried to rape her as she walked in Queens last week.

Authorities say the woman was walking near 71st Street and 41st Avenue in Jackson Heights shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday when the man attacked her. She fought back, and he ran north on 71st Street, police said.

The woman was treated for minor injuries.

Police released a photo of the suspect captured by surveillance cameras (above).

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
