RFK Jr.'s Wife Charged With Drunk Driving

Police in New York say the wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been charged with drunken driving.

Bedford police Sgt. Matt Dunn said Tuesday that 50-year-old Mary Richardson Kennedy was arrested Saturday after an officer saw her drive her 2004 Volvo station wagon over a curb outside a school.

Police said her alcohol-blood level was 0.11 percent. The legal limit is 0.8 percent.

Police said Kennedy told them she was at the school to pick up some people from a carnival.

Police would not comment on whether anyone was in the car with her or if she had a lawyer. There was no phone listing for the Kennedy home in Bedford.

Accoding to the Journal News of Westchester, Bedford police have been called to the Kennedys' home  multiple times in the past couple of weeks for "domestic disputes." No arrests have been made.

"We've been to that property in the past, and I'll just leave it at that," Bedford Police Lt. Jeff Dickan told the Journal News.

Robert Kennedy Jr., son of former Senator Robert Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, did not immediately return a call to his White Plains office.
