A tractor-trailer truck caught fire on the Queensboro Bridge Monday, prompting authorities to shut the lower level for a time, officials said.

The Queens-bound lanes of the lower level of the bridge had reopened by 11 a.m., but the Manhattan-bound lanes remained closed for another few hours, officials said. All lower lanes had reopened by 3 p.m., but authorities advised drivers to expect additional delays.

Firefighters responded to a 911 call around 9:45 a.m. and the flames were contained within a half an hour.

The fire was confined to the cab of the 18-wheeler, authorities said.

It wasn't clear if anyone was injured.
