Man Killed in Queens Shooting: NYPD

A 57-year-old man was shot and killed during a dispute with two other people in Queens Friday morning, police say.

The victim, who has not been identified, was shot on 108th Avenue between 226th and 227th streets in Queens Village around 4:30 a.m., the NYPD says. He was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital in where he died.

He was shot after a dispute with two other men. The victim appears to be an off-duty corrections officer, law enforcement sources say.

It’s the second shooting in just over 24 hours in the Queens neighborhood.

Late Wednesday night, police found a man inside a building on Jamaica Avenue with gunshot wounds to the back of his head and body. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
