Queens Subway Robbers Punch Victims in Face: NYPD

Police say a pair of robbers has been attacking subway riders on trains and in stations in Queens, stealing valuables before punching them in the face.

The first known robbery in the pattern was Tuesday, Sept. 2 at about 4 a.m., when the suspects grabbed a 23-year-old man from behind while he was walking up the stairs of the 169th Street station on the F line, according to police.

They threw him to the ground, punched him in the face and took his wallet from his back pocket before running away, police said.

On Tuesday, Sept. 30, at about 9 a.m., the suspect punched a 30-year-old man on board the northbound F train station near Sutphin Boulevard and demanded his iPad, police said.

The victim refused and got off at the station, according to police. The suspects followed him, then ran away without stealing anything.

A little more than a week later, one of the suspects snatched a cellphone from a 33-year-old man on a southbound F train as it pulled into Parsons Boulevard, police said. When the victim tried to chase after him, another man punched him in the face.
