Queens Man Drove Drunk With 4 Children, 6 Others in SUV: Police

A Queens man has been accused of driving drunk with four children and six other passengers in his SUV Sunday evening, state police say.

State troopers pulled the 37-year-old’s SUV over on the Palisades Interstate Parkway after a license plate scanner showed that his registration was suspended.

The man had a total of 10 passengers in the car, including two 15-year-olds, a 4-year-old and a 3-year-old, police say. None of the children were in car seats or wearing seat belts.

The man was arrested and taken to the state police barracks in Haverstraw. While there, police say, tests showed that he had a blood alcohol concentration of .10, above the legal limit.

The man is charged with felony aggravated DWI, misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and several other traffic violations.
