Fire officials say 11 people have been injured, four of them seriously, in an early-morning fire at a two-family house in Queens.
A fire department spokesman says four of the victims are in critical condition, including a 3-year-old child and the child's mother. The others, including one firefighter, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Most of the injuries are smoke-related, fire officials said.
The fire erupted in the kitchen of the Fresh Meadows home at 1:46 a.m. Monday. It was brought under control at 2:19 a.m.
The spokesman said the fire spread to the rear of the building, at 169-03 65th Ave.
