Queens-Bound Midtown Tunnel Closed This Weekend

The Queens-bound side of the Midtown Tunnel will be closed to traffic this weekend for repair work, beginning 1 a.m. on Saturday through 3 a.m. on Monday, the MTA says.

Drivers can still use the tunnel to get to Queens, but there will be delays.

Two-way traffic will use the other tunnel, limited to cars and MTA buses. Commercial traffic will not be allowed to use the tunnel.

The work includes removing old concrete and repairing potholes.

Queens-bound motorists can enter the tunnel at 34th Street or 35th Street between Second and Third avenues.
