Protesters Arrested Outside Cuomo's Office

State police have arrested 33 demonstrators in the hall outside Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office at the Capitol.

Authorities say they're charged with disorderly conduct for refusing to move away from the stairway in front of the office.

State police Lt. Anthony Oliver says the protesters were very cooperative.

They were part of a demonstration against proposed budget cuts for schools, the state's public university systems and housing for AIDS patients that attracted about 200 supporters and lasted a half hour.

Cuomo is still out of town after doing a presentation on his budget proposal at Syracuse University.

The protest Wednesday was organized and attended by City University of New York workers.

There was no violence, just chanting and cooperation between police and demonstrators.
