Jersey Shore Couple Accused of Robbery, Prostitution at Gated Retirement Community

A robbery report led to numerous charges being filed against a Jersey Shore couple allegedly involved in prostitution at a retirement community, authorities say.

The Asbury Park Press reports that 33-year-old Anne Donahue and her 40-year-old boyfriend, Philip Cottone, were arrested this week. The couple faces numerous charges, including robbery, criminal restraint, theft, prostitution and drug offenses.

The investigation began after a man told authorities he had made contact with Donahue through a website and arranged to have sex for money. After arriving at the couple's home, the man said he tried to leave because the suspect didn't resemble photos posted online but was forced by Donahue and Cottone to pay the agreed amount.

Police told the newspaper that about 600 vehicles had visited the Thornbury Lane house located in a gated retirement community. Cars would come and go at all hours of the night, police said.

Bail for each of the Manchester Township residents was set at $150,000 cash, and it was not known if either one had retained a lawyer.
