$1M Powerball Tickets Sold in New York, Connecticut

No one won the historic $900 million Powerball jackpot in Saturday night's drawing, but plenty of tri-state lottery players still walked away winners.

Players on Long Island and in Queens each won $1 million, matching five of six numbers. The tickets were sold at Chef Hong on Metropolitan Avenue in Ridgewood and at Mr. Tobacco on Singer Lane in Smithtown.

A third $1 million ticket was also sold in the Empire State, at Stewart's Shop on state Route 9 in the Columbia County town of Valatie.

Tickets winning $1 million and $2 million were also sold in Connecticut, according to the Hartford Courant. Players can double a $1 million prize by paying an $1 when they buy their ticket.

No New Jersey lottery players won the $1 million second prize, but lottery officials in the Garden State said that 29 players won $50,000 by matching four of six numbers.

A Staten Island lottery player hit the unrelated Mega Millions jackpot in Friday's drawing, winning $165 million on a ticket purchased from the Willowbrook Deli off of Victory Boulevard in Graniteville.

The jackpot for Powerball has swelled to $1.3 billion, making it the largest lottery prize in world history. The next drawing is Wednesday night.
