In a video that's on You Tube and can be viewed above, a dozen NYPD officers are seen running into the Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church Friday night in pursuit of 18-year old Kendall Jones.
The foot chase started after officers with the 77th precinct say they saw Jones driving a stolen car the wrong way on a one-way street. The also say he ran a red light and drove the car up onto the sidewalk on Lincoln Place near Rogers Avenue in Crown Heights.
As officers approached the car, they say, Jones took off and ran into the church a block away where they chased him up a rear stairwell to the roof and arrested him.
While at the 77th precinct stationhouse, Jones, who is epileptic, had a seizure and was rushed to Kings County Hospital where he was treated and released back into police custody.
Jones is now facing six criminal charges, including grand larceny, and six traffic violations.
A spokesperson for the NYPD says the officers "acted appropriately in apprehending as quickly as possible an individual who was endangering the public."
