Suspect in Bronx Cop Shooting Arrested in Conn.

A man wanted in connection with the shooting of an NYPD officer during a fight in the Bronx over the weekend was arrested Monday afternoon in Waterbury, Conn., police said.

Just hours after releasing a photo of suspect Samuel Ventura, word came of his arrest.

He was wanted for questioning in the shooting of an off-duty officer during a fight  in the Pelham Bay Diner parking lot.  The officer, Richard Olmo, 43, was release from the hospital on Monday.

At least two shots were fired during the fight, police said. One of the shots hit the officer in the lower right section of his back and he was transported to Jacobi Medical Center.   

Detectives said a security camera captured the suspect and several friends who fled in a dark color Chevy Caprice.
