Police Officer Assaulted in BK Train Station

The assault took place at around 10:50 a.m. inside the Gates Ave J train subway station

Police are searching for a man who assaulted a police officer in Brooklyn Friday night.

The assault took place at around 10:50 a.m. inside the Gates Ave J train subway station, where police say they observed 25-year-old Michael Ellison using a student metro card. As police tried arrest Ellison, they say he resisted, knocking a female officer down a flight of stairs before fleeing.

The officer sustained two broken ankles and a laceration to the head requiring 10 stitches.

Ellison is described as being approximately 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, with a tattoo on the rights side of his neck of the word "Smoove."
