Police Looking to ID Man Killed in Crash on Long Island

Police are looking to identify a pedestrian that died after being hit by a car Saturday on Long Island.

The man was in the westbound lane of State Route 24 near Cypress Avenue in Southampton around 12:30 a.m. when he was hit by a car that was traveling west, police said.

He was treated at the scene and taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center where he died.

No further details were immediately available.

Police say the man is believed to have lived somewhere in the Flanders area. Anyone with information is asked to call Southampton police at 631-702-2230.
