Police Arrest Suspect in Shooting of Teen, Man in Queens

The shooting happened on 8th Street in Astoria

Police say they've arrested a suspect in a Queens shooting that left a man and a teenage boy hospitalized.
 
The NYPD says officers chased Shannon Smith as he fled Friday in a car and then on foot.
 
They charged the 34-year-old Valley Stream man with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
 
Police say officers found Smith with a stolen .45-caliber handgun. They say he resisted arrest.
 
Information on Smith's lawyer wasn't immediately available.

The shooting happened on 8th Street in Astoria around 4:40 p.m., Friday.
 
Police say a 30-year-old man is in critical but stable condition at Elmhurst Hospital with wounds to his torso and leg.
 
A 15 year-old boy is in stable condition with a wound to his shoulder.
