Police Arrest Suspect in Brooklyn Livery Cab Shooting

Michael Magnan has been charged with attempted murder

A 19-year-old man with a lengthy criminal history has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a livery cab passenger during an attempted robbery in Brooklyn, police said.

Michael Magnan was charged with attempted murder Sunday, police said.

Early Saturday morning, a cab was stopped at a traffic light when Magnan allegedly approached and tried to rob the driver at gunpoint. A passenger in the car was shot in the head while the driver struggled with Magnan, police said.

The victim in the shooting is in serious but stable condition, police said.

Police are also questioning Magnan in connection with a Saturday shooting at a house party in Marine Park, where four people were injured, as well as an altercation at a night club.

Police said Magnan has been arrested in the past on charges of attempted murder, weapons possession, drug possession, possession of stolen property, bail jumping, and failure to pay bus fare.
