Boy Robbed on Lower East Side Playground

A 15-year-old boy was robbed on a playground Tuesday by a man who approached him with a gun

Police are searching for two suspects in an armed robbery on a Lower East Side playground Tuesday.

A 15-year-old boy was robbed on a playground on Jefferson Street and Madison Avenue at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. He was approached by a man about 18 to 19 years old, who showed a silver gun and demanded his money and cell phone. 

A second man, also about 18 to 19 years old, was seen on surveillance video acting as a lookout. 

The two suspects then fled the location.

The armed suspect is described as about 5 feet 9 inches and 170 pounds, and last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a black baseball cap. 

The lookout suspect is described as about 5 feet 7 inches, about 150 to 160 pounds, and last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black baseball cap.
