Pilot Dies After Crashing Into Trees at New Jersey Airport

The pilot of a single-engine plane that crashed into trees after fueling at New Jersey's Blairstown Airport has died, authorities say.

Samuel Singer of Warren Township was extricated from the wreckage on Thursday and died at a hospital, according to police.

Blairstown police say a witness reported Singer had just refueled the plane when the North American Navion aircraft went full throttle across two runways and then hit trees.

The Federal Aviation administration is investigating.
