If you intend to use the subways to get around the city this beautiful weekend, you may want to come up with a Plan B. Yet again, the MTA plans to slash service in a big way, with precious few lines running on normal schedules.
Users of the L train face one of the most egregious cuts, with no train service whatsoever between Williamsburg and Manhattan throughout the weekend. The changes take effect at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and last through 5 a.m. Monday.
To alleviate the hassle to commuters, the MTA plans to keep the M-line, which normally shuts down on weekends, open. But that's little consolation to Williamsburg commuters, who will be subjected to shuttle bus routes and the M14. (Check out your options here.)
D train service will be shut down between Herald Square and Pacific Street, and A and C trains skip Fulton St-Broadway Nassau Station in both directions.
Check out the MTA's website for more on planned service changes and alternate routes.
