Pizza Hut Delivery Driver Shot, Killed in Newark

Prosecutors say the 20-year-old man crashed into a fence after he was shot



    A Pizza Hut delivery driver died after he crashed his car into a fence in Newark, N.J., Sunday night, and authorities say he was shot prior to the accident.

    Prosecutors say 20-year-old Jose Torres plowed into a fence near 11th and 13th streets around 9:30 p.m. Officers responding to a call about the accident saw he had been shot.

    Torres died at the hospital less than an hour later.

    Prosecutors say the Newark resident had been in the area delivering pizza when he was shot.

    It wasn't clear if he was the target.

    No arrests have been made.
