Pipe Bomb Discovered Outside Montclair Home

Several homes in an upscale New Jersey suburb were evacuated today after police discovered an unexploded pipe bomb in front of a home.

Montclair Deputy Chief Todd Conforti said police received a call about a suspicious package in the driveway of a single family home at 38 Aubrey Road around 6:32 a.m.

The family was home at the time, police said.
Residents within a 2 block radius were evacuated
and the device was safely detonated.

Residents have since been allowed to return

Police are not saying anything further at this point because it's an "active investigation"
