Pipe Bomb Explodes Underneath Car in Bronx: Sources

Police are investigating after a pipe bomb exploded inside an occupied car in the Bronx Wednesday evening, hurting the man who was inside, law enforcement officials say.

Investigators so far believe the device was planted and the man, who has as many as 14 prior arrests, was targeted, officials said. He was hurt, but it's not clear how badly.

A bomb squad was on the scene investigating on the 3000 block of Roberts Avenue in Pelham, and the FBI's Joint Terror Task Force was also there as precaution, although officials do not believe it's terror-related.

Authorities are still investigating.
