An alleged gunman arrested in the death of a 4-year-old boy on a Bronx playground last week was indicted Monday on murder charges, the Bronx DA's office said.
Rondell Pinkerton, also known as Spyder, 17, faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison on the charges, which also include attempted murder, assault and weapons possession. His next court appearance was scheduled for Sept. 10.
The child, Lloyd Morgan, died July 22 when he was caught in the crossfire as gunplay erupted at a basketball court.
Police on Friday charged 19-year-old Ronald Jeffrey of the Bronx with murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the shooting.
Police have also charged Rondell Pinkerton, 17, with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Courtney Kelly, 26, of the Bronx, who was wounded in the shootout, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Lloyd's funeral is planned for Wednesday.
