A small glider crashed on Long Island Saturday morning, killing the one person on board, according to a published report.
An FAA spokeswoman said that a Schweizer Glider crashed in a wooded area near Brookhaven Airport just after 11 a.m.
Newsday reports that the pilot was killed in the crash and that no one was injured on the ground.
Authorities have yet to release the pilot's identity and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
