Several Pedestrians Struck After Car Jumps Curb in Bronx

Several pedestrians were taken to the hospital after an 85-year-old driver apparently lost control of his car and jumped the curb in the Bronx Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

One of the victims was listed in critical condition, but none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening; police said all of the pedestrians hit were being evaluated for possible broken bones.

The vehicle ended up on the sidewalk near 149th Street and Bergen Avenue after it jumped the curb shortly before 1 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police say no criminality is suspected.
