Pedestrian, 91, Dies After Being Struck by Car in Brooklyn: Police

Police have identified a 91-year-old woman who died after being struck by a car last month in Brooklyn.

Iris Rhooms died after being struck by a Chevy Tahoe on May 19 on Lenox Road at East 51 Street in Brownsville, police said.

Rhooms was taken to Kings County Hospital where she was pronounced dead on Tuesday, June 2.

Police say the 62-year-old driver of the Chevy Tahoe was traveling eastbound on Lenox Road near East 51 Street when Rhooms walked onto the roadway and was struck. The driver, who was unidentified, was uninjured. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
