Teens Shot in Paterson, N.J. Park

Police are looking for four men.

Police are searching for four men in connection with an armed robbery that left a 17-year-old dead and a 15-year-old wounded in a northern New Jersey park.

Police say the boys were in Paterson's Roberto Clemente Park on Monday night when the men appeared. Two of the men were armed.

Police have interviewed the 15-year-old survivor of the brutal attack, but will only say that it appears to have been a robbery gone bad.

"Two of the four had guns," said Lt. Ron Humphrey, a detective in the Paterson Police Department.

"For no reason they were shot," Lt. Humphrey added.

The 15-year-old survivor was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, and was able to identify one of his attackers, according to a source.

The pair was walking home through the park after visiting Rivera's uncle, according to a neighbor, when the attack occurred.

Rivera loved basketball and football, according to his mother, who was otherwise too distraught to talk on Tuesday.
