Several passengers and a flight attendant on a plane out of LaGuardia Airport were injured when their flight encountered severe turbulence while flying into Miami International Airport Friday, officials say.
American Airlines Flight 1410 was about 40 minutes from landing at the Miami airport with 159 passengers and six crew on board when it hit severe turbulence, the airline said.
The seat belt sign was on at the time. The flight landed and was taken to Terminal D. Five passengers were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and released, American Airlines said.
The flight attendant was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
