NBC 4 New York

A 31-year-old man was shot to death and a teenager was injured after a fight broke out when uninvited guests showed up to a party on Long Island Monday night, authorities say.

Police say the group showed up to the party at a home on Rosewood Street shortly before 10 p.m. and, when they were asked to leave, a fight broke out in the street. At least one shot was fired.

The 31-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A 16-year-old boy who was also injured was taken to the hospital. It's not clear if he was shot. He's expected to survive.
