There was no evidence of a food fight, but police say a pair of hungry individuals face charges stemming from an altercation over crab legs at a restaurant in Connecticut.
The dispute started at about 8 p.m. Saturday in the buffet line at the Royal Buffet in Manchester.
Details about the scuffle were few, but Manchester police said a woman's 21-year-old son suffered a cut lip and broken front tooth. They added that the woman fired pepper spray during the brouhaha in an attempt to prevent her son from being further assaulted.
Police offered no explanation as to the nature of the crab-leg dispute.
They did, however, charge Clifford Knight, 45, and Lataya Knight, 38, both of Windsor, with disorderly conduct. Clifford Knight was also charged with third-degree assault. Lataya Knight was also charged with second-degree threatening.
Both were released on bail and are scheduled to appear in court on April 14.
