PATH service has returned to normal after an earlier smoke condition forced suspensions between 33rd Street in Manhattan and Hoboken and 33rd Street and Journal Square in Jersey City.
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Ron Marsico said crews fixed a problem with the third rail in a tunnel in the middle of the Hudson River.
Marsico said no one was injured or trapped when the incident occurred Monday afternoon.
