Authorities say an off-duty corrections officer shot and killed a man who was trying to steal his motorcycle Saturday night in Queens.
According to a preliminary investigation by police, the man approached the officer and four other men on Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park around 10:30 p.m., pulled out a gun and demanded keys to their motorcycles.
The officer then shot the man in the head, killing him.
Police have yet to release the identity of the man or the officer.
An investigation is ongoing.
